How "runs" are assigned

When you call 911 you are normally transfered from the Police Dispatcher to someone at the Fire Station.  After the information is obtained from the caller, the call-taker makes the decision on what equipment is sent to the Emergency.

Fire -

• Building/House Fire
• Wires Down
• Carbon Monoxide/Smoke Detector sounding
• Gas Leak
• Rubbish Fire
• Vehicle Fire
• Fuel spills
• Vehicle rescue (Jaws of Life)
• False Alarms

Ambulance -

• Medical Emergencies
• Public Assists

Ambulance Assist -

• Extra manpower needed at scene
  • One person in Utility SUV
  • Three people in Fire Engine
  • Dependant on severity of the call
