East Detroit Firefighters got an early wake up call with this 5:25am alarm on June 5, 1966 blaze at 23035 Gratiot. The Liberty Loan Company building was a total loss. Several other adjoining buildings suffered severe smoke damage as well. Shown below is old 135 on the scene. Roseville Fire also assisted with their ladder truck. It took more than 4 hours to bring this blaze under control.
