In late May 1941 in the area of Kelly Road between Stephens Road and Ten Mile Road, there was an airplane crash. Few details of the crash were recorded in the fire record. Pictured below is an unidentified firefighter extinguishing the fire. Early department records indicate that the Model T was used quite often on runs that were 'off road'. The light weight and maneuverable Model T navigated the rough terrain much better than the bigger and heavier American Lafrance Pumper.
Ironically, this was the final run the Model T made before the arrival of a new 1941 Ford pumper that replaced her.
